DC Vegan Bake Sale for Haiti
DC Vegan is holding Vegan Bake Sales in the coming weeks to help raise money for Haiti due to the recent devastating earthquake that hit. We will also be collecting money at the next DC Vegan Drinks, Thursday January 21st.

100% of the proceeds from the Vegan Bake Sale will go to Food for Life Global.
Food for Life is a nonprofit organization, bringing food and life to the needy of the world through the liberal distribution of pure vegetarian meals. The project started in 1974 when an elderly Indian swami, Srila Prabhupada, implored his yoga students not to allow anyone within a ten mile radius of his ashram to go hungry. The program grew quickly, and today Food for Life is active in over 60 countries worldwide. FFL is providing Vegan food relief to Haiti.

**If you need to drop off / or picked up your baked goods the night before the event send me an email, tim@dcvegan.com, so we can arrange something.**

Donate your Vegan baked goods, please fill out this form.
Volunteers for the the Vegan Bake Sale, please fill out this form.
- Please deliver food by 9:45am (takoma) & 10:15am (falls church). Exception: if we have a ton of bakers, it’s ok if some of you deliver the food later, but by noon.
- If you want to contribute baked goods but cannot make it to the bake sale that day, we’ll have two drop-off points (people’s houses) where you can deliver the food the night before. This works better if the food doesn’t have to be refrigerated.
- If at all possible: Bring the recipe for your lovely creation.
- Remember to include a spatula or appropriate serving utensil.
- We could use help with posting fliers.
- Help out at the table.

I’ve got a date and tentative venue for bake sale #2. I’ll find out about the status of a second venue Monday, then decide on one. Both are in Falls Church, for Saturday Feb 6.
We will now be splitting the proceeds from the bake sale between Mercy Corps and Food For Life, see more info above.

Reminder … it’s not too late to bake for the Feb 6 Falls Church bake sale. Although it’s impossible to predict, I predict we’ll have a good crowd. So the more baked goods to sell, the better!
We could also use volunteers to help hold signs (fun and exciting) and help us pack up afterward (also fun and exciting).
Almost forgot – or just come on buy and buy stuff!
Hate to do this but … should we move the bake sale back to Sunday Feb 7 if possible, due to the expected snow on Saturday (but expected clear and sunny on Sunday)? Am checking soon to see if we can keep the same venue Sunday.

OK – New date and time for Falls Church bake sale. Sorry about last-minute change. The forecast was looking ominous and I was afraid of a total bust. I just hope Sunday is good weather because…
The Falls Chuch bake sale will now be Sunday Feb 7, from 2pm to 6pm. Same venue (Falls Plaza Giant). There is another group that has the spot until 2pm, so probably we will really not be fully set up until 2:30, but we will try to start selling as soon after 2 as possible.
You can drop stuff off at the bake sale (we’ll get to the Giant about 1:45), or beforehand – contact info@compassion4animals for details on dropoffs the day before or Sunday morning.
Thanks for your cooperation and patience! I hope this doesn’t interfere too terribly. Let’s make it an awesome bake sale anyway!

Hate to do this, after already rescheduling once, but … due to massive amounts of snow, we’re forced to postpone the Falls Church bake sale. We’ll reschedule as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
