A BUNCH of NEW Vegan Items at Great Sage
Great Sage has just updated their menu with a bunch of new Vegan items, most of them are dinner entrees. Here is the rundown:
SALAD
Tabouli and Sundried Tomato Tabouli salad dressed with lemon, parsley, basil, olive oil, and sea salt accompanied by a sundried tomato and olive pesto. (V,SF)
STARTERS
Vietnamese Spring Rolls Rice paper wrapped RAW carrot, cabbage, scallion, sesame, peppers, cashews and herbs served with a sweet & spicy chili sauce and a peanut sauce. (V, GF )
Falafel Griddle Cake Chick pea and wheat bran cake served with tomato-cucumber relish and a tahini sauce. (V)
DINNER
Vegan Fettuccini Alfredo Sautéed seasonal squash with carrot and radicchio, tossed with fettuccini and a rich ‘parmesan style’ sauce topped with basil peppercorn oil. (V)
Grilled Vegetable Terrine Layered ‘lasagna’ of grilled eggplant, squash, sun-dried tomato, and herbs with spinach and mushrooms over our house pomodoro. (V, GF, SF)

Veg Wine Dinner at Great Sage

Simple, Vegan Footwear
As many of us know good vegan footwear is pretty limited. But I recently bought myself a pair of Simple shoes (vegan of course). I have been looking for these all over the DC area for a while (i prefer to try them one rather than buying online) and there are not really may places that carry a good selection of them, except one. I got my pair a Nest in Clarksville, they carry a selection of mens and womens Simple shoes (they also have Keen and Earth Shoes). Now not all of the Simple shoes are vegan but I think a majority of the line is and they are also green. They use a lot of hemp, organic cotton, post consumer paper, and recycled PET . Simple also has a line of bags which are pretty sweet looking too (i have not got one of these yet). But so far I love my Simple shoes very comfy and they have this cool insole that has these little bumps on it to massage your feet.
