Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the USDA’s intention to purchase $60 million of turkey, $25 million of pork, and $2 million of lamb to help struggling farmers offload their products. And the lucky beneficiary of the government-bought products? The national school lunch program. This will mark the second time in less than a year that the USDA has bailed out pork farmers. Over at the Huffington Post, Actor Ryan Reynolds reveals the truth about baby seals, aka “the white-fanged dispensers of death,” in a witty, yet eye-opening criticism of the Canadian seal slaughter. Reynolds shares that one taste of “the sublime rapture of a mouth watering popsicle, made from frozen seal tears” will be enough to silence the sanctimonious hippies who protest the hunt.

There is one item in that list of vegan accessories that is not vegan and its the cashmere sweeter, as pointed out by one of our readers, thanks for catching that.
