This video landed in my inbox a few days ago, accompanied by a plea from SPCA International to
sign their petition urging the Iraqi goverment to use humane methods to control its population of stray dogs.
The video left me brokenhearted and, in the days since I watched it, I’ve struggled to find the right words with which to pass it on to you. I’m not sure there are any, so I will simply say: here it is for us to bear witness.
I urge you to sign the ASPCA’s petition and to tell others to sign as well. I also encourage you to join me in sending a letter to Iraqi Ambassador Samir Sumaida’ie at the Iraq Embassy in DC.
