Takoma Park, MD

If you’ve never tried Falafel, a Middle Eastern dish made with chickpeas and lots of savory spices, you’re in for a treat!
VegDC.com is happy to report that The Organic Falafel Stand, an all-vegan fast-food eatery just opened in Takoma Park, Maryland! In addition to several mouth-watering falafel options, including sandwiches or a platter, your taste buds will also be tempted by the hearty homemade soups (changes daily) as well as a mock beef and grilled tofu sandwich, fries, drinks, and more. It’s the perfect choice for a quick and delicious lunch or dinner (you can even place your order in advance if you’re really in a rush).
This stand (well, it’s more like a truck) is operated by Olive Tree Works and it’s parked in the Citgo gas station parking lot directly across the street from the Takoma Park Co-op. It’s open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This place is wonderful. Haven’t tried the soups yet, but the falafel sandwich and the Takoma Grill sandwich are fantastic. Everyone is friendly. The organic fries are a must. It’s great to have this vegan hot spot in Takoma!
